Rocky Mountain Wellness Video Testimonial

In: Marketing Videos Critique

17 Jun 2009

The principles in this video are good.  It is short – 2 minutes 10 seconds.  This is not a “cheerleader” testimonial that is full of aggrandizing words (awesome, terrific, etc.) and add little or no solid information.  Instead, this is a case study.  This is a woman who had severe pain from Fibromyalgia, frozen shoulder, and vision problems.  She speaks about her experience and story.

The jump cuts to summary pages is disorienting…along with the sound cutting out for those pages.  Furthermore, his contact info is on the entire video (which is good) – except it overlaps the text on the summary pages (which is bad).  Basically, poor editing.  He did not use a tripod – it was handheld.  Also the look and sound could have been far better with a external mic and lights (but I have seen worse).  Another mistake was no closing screen or call to action…a free consultation or something.
