Looking into the World of Online Videos for Marketing & Recruiting…and other stuff.
This 1 minute 15 second video gives you a sneak peek of the grounds of this bed and breakfast that must get a lot of weddings. The wedding aspect is pushed quite a bit, but no one in the film is very young. I felt a subtle disparity here. This video tried to be all things to everyone and so lost everyone. A corporate client would not get much from this with all the focus on weddings. Two videos should have been made…one focused on weddings – showing all the tables out and maybe a shot from behind the bride and groom. The focus was on the grounds…I never saw the inside. Does anything make the inside special? Do I want to stay there or just use the grounds?
This isn’t a bad video, just very unfocused. I do like that I get to see the grounds, but wedding (not birthday or corporate) would come to mind for this location. This business does have a leg up on any competitor without a video. But as video becomes more common place, focused messages will be more important than just having a video.
A blog written by a Minnesota Recruiter and Video Producer about marketing, social media, online video production, recruiting, and some about what I'm doing in life. Professionally, I am very interested in online videos for businesses marketing their products & services, and videos for recruiting for their open positions.
