This is almost 30 seconds…and a total waste of time. Don’t ever think about making videos like this for your company. Nothing was really said…it wasn’t a very good testimonial. “I had a shoulder that hurt and it affected my elbow…he fixed it…and it feels really good now…thanks.” That was the video.

How did he find this chiropractor? Why did he choose this chiropractor over a competitor? What makes going to this chiropractor special? Or…how about more detail about what the injury was? There isn’t even in this video to say there is any kind of story. There isn’t any additional information gained about this chiropractor gained by watching this video. There isn’t even anything given to overcome objections about using a chiropractor or specifically this chiropractor.

Am I being too hard…or does this video do anything for you?

This is self-made video by a chiropractic and massage clinic in Eden Prairie. It is 46 seconds in duration. I like that the video is short, but the sound is awful. I know I have said this many times…always, always, always use an external microphone…never the built in microphone. Also the camera shake is annoying…always use a tripod.

She had chronic sciatica and went to him. This is a nice case-study story format. She says now she can walk and there is no more pain…so you see how satisfied she is with the results. The “and I know you will feel better if you try it” was poorly placed…it just felt odd, as it had no connection or flow with the rest of the story or video. Try what? What “it” is she referring to? Story flow and logical sequence of events is important.

Lastly, there was no call to action or even contact information at the end. If I found this video through YouTube…how do I find out more about you, where are you located, how do I contact you, etc. The contact info is in the description of the YouTube video…but it really should be in the video itself.

This 1 minute 30 second video is a commercial…and instantly feels like one from the start of the video. I suspect a lot of people stopped watching in the first 25 seconds. People on the internet and watching videos online are not there to watch your commercials…they are looking for something for themselves (what is in it for the viewer). This video is on the home page of their website…but it would fit better on TV. People expect commercials on TV (and they don’t watch them there either).

In those first 25 seconds, there is no mention of what company this is or any information. People who bailed in the first 25 seconds didn’t learn anything about the company. Nothing was said about the company. This video did nothing to start building a relationship…or let me become acquainted personally with the company. It was pure business…a commercial. These are not the kind of videos I produce, because they don’t work well at all online.

Short, 1 minute 34 second video by Dr. Joshua in Roseville, MN about why he became a chiropractor. This video is right on his homepage (autoplays) and is a great introduction to him and his practice. In an industry that is so personal, this is a great marketing tool.

A call to action (I know I’ve been harping on this lately) would make it better. Something like, call now for a free consultation…and list a phone number and website address at the end. If someone saw the video on YouTube and not his website, now they have to search for his contact information (and many would not take the time and trouble). He does say it, but it would be best to show it as well.

Lastly, on comment about autoplay. I am not a big fan of videos that autoplay, but this was done well. The way the website is set up, the video is right in front and starts. The video really is the website page. In this circumstance, autoplay can work. It may inconvience or annoy a few, but it is not salesy and is personal…so it works. If it was more salesy or commercial…having it autoplay would have annoyed me.
