Looking into the World of Online Videos for Marketing & Recruiting…and other stuff.
This is a 4 minute 37 second video…longer than I would prefer, but we wanted to cover two people’s stories in some detail. This really is a video to get more people to become mentors…you get to hear the stories of two mentors. You hear what got these two to become mentors, how mentoring affects their mentees lives, and even some advice if you were to become a mentor and what is expected from mentors.
This 2 minute 12 second video lets you meet the chef and owner…and hear a bit of his story. You hear about his dishes and his philosophy. I would say it is successful…the video has been viewed on YouTube over 56,000 times and has been rated 28 times with almost a 5-star rating. I’m sure this video has spread awareness of the restaurant…and like brought in new customers.
This is a 9 minute and 37 second video…I was asleep by 1 minute 23 seconds. This is a very bad video. Don’t use this as a model or try to do something like this. It is WAY to long…and moves too slowly. Think of online video as giving just the bullet points…the high points of the story…not a complete reading of some long novel that rambles and never gets to the point.
This is about a 1 minute video for a carpet cleaning service. You get to meet the owner…she says they use the best chemicals and have a 99% return customers. You get to hear from one of her satisfied customers. So this video combines “about us” with a client testimonial. Lastly, she covers spot removal and there is no need to replace your carpet because of stain spots.
This is a 3 minute and 42 second video…interviewing 4 people for testimonials. I must say…this video is too long. I lost interest after a couple minutes. Each person said similar things and the similar things seemed to be grouped together. I would have made four one-minute videos out of this.
A blog written by a Minnesota Recruiter and Video Producer about marketing, social media, online video production, recruiting, and some about what I'm doing in life. Professionally, I am very interested in online videos for businesses marketing their products & services, and videos for recruiting for their open positions.
