This short, 50 second video is just a quick tip by a Life Coach. She made a lot of these (daily tip video), so she did them herself with a webcam…but she was close to the microphone (so the sound was not too bad) and the she was well lit. This tip involves the law of attraction…which a lot of people search for. Since the video was published 2 years ago, it has been viewed over 10,000 times.

Of course, I can see some people who think the law of attraction stuff to be bunk would be turned off by her and perhaps not hire her, but there are plenty of people who are interested in this and may decide to hire her because she talks about it. In marketing, you can’t speak to everyone…you can’t make everyone happy. So it is best to target your ideal customers and speak to them (even if in doing so would turn off other potential customers). This is smart marketing because to appeal to everyone is to appeal to no one.

I love seeing these kinds of videos by businesses. This is a video about how to make an easy and delicious grilled chicken parmesan. This video was produced by an online retailer focusing on BBQs. What a great way to attract visitors to their website…give them recipes they could use on their grill. This “professional chef” also gives other neat tips I am sure to use the next time I grill.

This video is over 10 minutes long…mainly because of bad editing. Part of the video repeats in the center. It should be about a 6.5 minute video. He finishes the video with “no one beats us on price…we smoke the competition”. Nice catch phrase. The website address is prominent. If I needed something for my grill…I would have gone to their website. But I don’t need anything. This is where some other offer or call to action would be nice. Perhaps a free e-book cookbook of all their best and highest rated recipes for the grill. I would have signed up for that…after seeing this video. Then you get names added to your email list.

How about your company…could it produce free content in the form of videos that would interest potential customers? You don’t need to go right to the sale…you can give content so they learn about you…and like you…and ultimately want to buy from you.

On YouTube, the video has been viewed over 107,000 times and have 77 ratings - giving the video a 4.5 star rating.

This is a 4 minute and 43 second video…a bit long, but the kind of content that people thinking about divorce will watch to the end. The top 5 tips are engaging and very informative. The sound is a little off on DailyMotion, but looks fine on YouTube. On YouTube, the video has been viewed over 107,000 times and have 77 ratings – giving the video a 4.5 star rating. What a great video for this attorney…I have sure all the views and the content he gave away has resulted in a lot of new business for him.

He did say, as a tip, to make an appointment with a divorce lawyer to learn about your rights. After seeing this video, getting to know him, and probably now seeing him as an expert, how many people do you think set up an appointment with hm? He did not have a call to action or offer at the end…that is good for this video. With the earlier tip of seeing a lawyer…no more is needed. A call to action and offer at the end of the video would turn this freely given content into something else…more commercial. The point of this video was to give tips…not sell his companies services. So the tip to see a lawyer is enough. Great video!

This is a 4 minute and 21 second video…although longer than I usually like – but when covering 5 tips, it is acceptable. With proper lighting, external microphone, and some titling & text (and perhaps background music this video could have looked and sounded much better than it does. However, content-wise it is a winner.

He starts off saying hi and introducing himself…and mentioning everyone’s desire to pay as little taxes as possible. He talks about how these tips have saved clients millions of dollars. Then he covers each tip. At the end of the video is a call to action…contact us now to schedule a free tax review. But again, you can not take full advantage of video without action and something to see. Sure I get to see him…but that was it for the entire video. There are ways to make the video more engaging and appealing.

ArcheryCountry.com sells bows and all related equipment for targets and hunting. This short 2 minute 41 second film was filmed in one of their back rooms. The speaker was not a professional…which makes the video better. This guy looks like one of the staff…so if I go to their location in Waite Park, MN – I will get to see him and other (now assumed) knowledgeable staff.

This video was posted on YouTube…so there are many finding out about ArcheryCountry.com through the video and likely buying online from around the US and possibly the world. Also, it was excellent how he encouraged the viewers to check back on ArcheryCountry.com often because new articles and videos come out regularly.

Now for the big mistakes…Although it showed “Archery Country” as the opening and I know he said Archery Country, but the end should have had their logo and website address. You can’t assume that hearing it a couple times will stick…some are more visually oriented (like many video viewers). They need to see your logo (brand recognition over time) and web address (in case they found the video through a search on YouTube or Google).
